I don't think you need it. The sheet for the balanced sail is very easy to hold. Usually you only need a couple of fingers. The helm is also well enough balanced that you can usually let go of the tiller for a few seconds if necessary.

I consider an uncleated main sheet an essential safety feature. If I'm ever in danger of capsizing, all I have to do is let go of the main sheet.

That feeling of absolute security makes the boat a joy to sail.

There's always [ratchet blocks](http://www.clcboats.com/shop/products/boat-gear/sailing-gear-accessories/harken-ratchet-mainsheet-block-009.html).

"_Used on PocketShip, and any other CLC boat with a large mainsail. The essential value is that it keeps your hand from getting tired, yet it isn't dangerous like cleating the mainsheet would be. A small amount of pressure causes the sheet to jam in the block, taking the pressure off your hand, but if you ease up on pressure, the mainsheet runs free_."

I've got three of these on 2 boats. They definitely work well and help in keeping hands and elbows functional after hours of sailing.
