# Positioning of Onlay on Kayak -- don't want it upside down

I have the Blue Heron onlay to apply to my Wood Duck 10 kayak. I intend to apply it close to the deck bow (front end of the top of the boat). I don’t know if there a general concensus on how to install…what should be closest to the bow, the head of the blue heron or the feet. Please advise asap. Thank you very much.

I don’t think that there’s a formal code, as there is for the MIT Rat Ring. You’re the builder, it’s your boat, do what makes you happiest.
