I’ve been building theatrical sets for almost forty years. They require very little precision. So heck, why not try a precision strip built hybrid. I kayak a portion of the Colorado below Hoover Dam every year. It would take 20 years of rental to equal the cost of this thing - don’t tell the wife! Some things, a man just has to do. Picked this boat to fit me and camping gear and maybe a dog or the little misses. I’m dialing back my creative work so digging in to this to keep me from killing somebody. Nobody specific, mind you. It’s just that I need a creative outlet. I’m hoping this is just the thing to get me through the early winter. For those of you in the east, late February outside Vegas is about 76 degrees. The route is lined with some of the nicest hot springs you’ve ever seen. Black Canyon of the Colorado from Hoover Dam to Willow Beach. Can’t wait to be out there again. Three groups this year. A group of men letting loose. Then a mixed group of friends and family. And finally, a spiritual non-religious men’s retreat. Bliss. You know, it is said that if you can plan your misery, you can plan your bliss - BLISCIPLINE. Feel free to use it. Goes over good with the family. Keeps a man alive. So anyway. Yup. Building a boat. Might be some whiskey involved. If you’re reading this anywhere near the date I posted it, and you’ve already built one of these or you’re pretty far down the road, I would appreciate anything you want to tell me. Things like, “Buy sanding disks by the case,” or “Block plains are impossible. Use a sander.” Things like that. And if you need me, I’ll be up from the basement soon. Cheers.
