I completed the end pours using cardboard dams. I covered the inside of the dam with plastic shipping tap. A small leak occurred in the stern which I was able to stem. However the tape is covered in cured epoxy. I have been able to move most of the tape using a small chisel and needle nose pliers. Do I leave the cardboard or attempt to scrap/chisel it off?
Will it stress you to leave it? Or can you put behind you? If you are worried about having the ugliest end pour, don’t worry, my last one was a minor disaster and I’m sure it is way worse than yours. I don’t care - I can’t see it while I’m paddling.
One thing is if it’s bits of cardboard you may want to coat them in epoxy just so they don’t mold.
For me, i would scrape or chisel out or, as suggested, paint with epoxy so it does not rot.
A sharpened flat blade screwdriver and rubberf mallet will make easy work of it.
