Greetings fellow builders. After a 2-year hiatus abd several moves/travel my always pampered Chester Yawl spent the last year out on her trailer in the elements. She was covered with a CLC dura cover, two buckets of damp rid inside. Still water got in and sheets of ice formed. I cleaned her, replaced the damp rid. More water accumulated. No real damage. Tree leaves and such accumulated on the cover. I washed it with mild detergent a d baking soda in a washing machine, then dryer on medium heat. It looks great.
Suggestions as to waterproofing the fabric, again? I assume it is no longer waterproof or as waterproof as when new … suggestions welcome.
I bought a 30 X 10 tarp that I will put over the boat well above it with the cover under. Hopefully UV protection and keep debris away from main snug cover.
