Cockpit trimming on Mill Creek 13

Hi CLC forum,

Can anyone one advise on the proper sequence for trimming the deck overhang at the cockpit. Should I do it before or after glassing the deck? My preference is to do it before, and then trim the excess cloth to the finished edge, while the wet-out coat is still tacky, to achieve a clean edge.

I have built 6 mill creek 13 and have always trimed the deck after I glassed the deck.   I used a combination of a router, block plane and file.
