The overlay looks real good on the boats I see.

CLC web site says you fiberglass over the overlay.

I want to put on the forward seat of a passagemaker.

Anyone do this without fiberglassing and only using epoxy?

The passage on the we site look sweet.......

You can, but it won't be as durable.

Personally, I put glass on all horizontal surfaces for durability. Think of what your unglassed seat would look like if you dropped a thermos on it, for example.
