I am making a seat top out of okoume and solid wood for a small powerboat I built. It will be covered in fiberglass, which as you know becomes virtually transparent.
However, some epoxy has saturated the okoume (and is cured) in some areas, and since I've never dealt wiith this situation before, I worry that the final result of 'glass over these spots will look different than what is on top of bare okoume. Ultimately it will be varnished.
Before I charge ahead, I thought I'd ask you more experienced builders if this will be noticeable or if there is something I should do first (beyond a light sanding) such as scraping or a heavy sanding to remove more epoxy.
