It’s a great all-around kayak, super stable, large cockpits (can fit a kid or dog in front of you), 700 lbs. payload for camping, and fairly fast. Launched in Lake Lure (pre Helene), floated the French Broad into Asheville many times, took 2 miles out in the Atlantic and paddled many lakes.

One of the reasons I picked the Double to build is the cockpit spacing that allows the paddlers to be out of sync. Or as Nick points out in his book, your partner can’t hit you in the head even if you deserve it.
Just completed refinishing with 6 coats of System Three WR-LPU so it’s ready for years of use.
