Inherited a hand-made rowboat from the PNW: need advice and info

Dear Boaters, 

I inherited this beautiful hand-made wooden rowboat from a great great uncle who lived outside of Portland.

I don't know much of his story, except that he was a recluse, he loved the ocean, loved fishing, and loved wooden boats (I've got little models, and a kayak that he built too). 

I'm looking for any insight on this boat that you may have--what kind is it? is it a kit or custom? what conditions might it have been used for? I'm 6'5", and I love the water, but this is boat is much too small for me, so I'm not sure what to do with it. Is it worth anything? Would love to get it in the hands of someone who would appreciate and use it.

I'm happy to answer any questions--if I can.

it looks like a custom made skiff.  likely by a professional or talented amateur.  not any kit that they would sell today.

if you are trying to move it, it only has value to somebody who values a fine wooden boat.  i would definitely list it at http://www.woodenboat.com/ which is a site for wooden boat aficianados and fanatics.  the difference between that site and this, is at woodenboats.com thereis a wealth of knowledge about historical builders/designers and the craft they created.  i bet they would id it for you in a day.  it would also be a good place to try to sell it if that is what you are trying to do.

you can, of course, take picture and post them in various places.  but buyers of wooden boats tend to be an odd lot these days....you just need to find somebody who wants this one.  based on the picture...i don't think that will be terribly hard.  it looks like a nice piece of work.
