I am having difficulty with the sail track and sail fittings on my new Jimmy Skiff 2.
No matter how carefully and accurately I have put together the 3 part sail track on my mast, I am unable to raise the sail which gets caught at the first of the track joins.
I have checked the alignment and checked for burrs etc. on the track but the sliders attached to the sail always get caught at the first join. I am considering having the whole of the track TIG welded to eliminate the joins.
My question is; Am I the only one to have this issue? And has anyone else faced this problem? If so, what did you do to fix the problem.
Thanks in Advance.

It might be counterintuitive, but going for the perfect/seamless looking alignment might be the wrong way to go. You could try slightly (only slightly) “rounding in” all corners/edges/sides of track pieces where they meet at the joint, including the back sides of the T-edge of the track. That will give the track a small bit of a pinched-waste look at the joint, but should give the slides nothing to catch on. You might also try very slightly flaring open your slides with a screwdriver, or using a small jewelers-type file or emory cloth to take the sharp edges off of the inside of your slides.
Thank you, Jeff
That sounds like good advice. I will do as you suggest and let you know the outcome.

I don’t suppose there’s before and after pictures?
