Much to my surprise a googling of this topic resulted in nothing.
The Builders Forum is likely not the BEST place to ask but I start here and perhaps someone could please provide a link or 2 to demonstrate.
QUESTION: Using a Piantedosi row wing set up how do you maneuver a wherry with sculling oars in tight quarters? With a regular row boat you can ship one oar and simply paddle or scull off the stern.
Can you even bring the oars on board of the 2 oar sculling boats with a sliding rig? I can imagine needing to come ashore to a wooded beach or even approaching a crowded dock and get tangled up with the “wings” of the Expedition Wherry for example.
Obviously I have no experience with this type of rowing so, learning basic techniques aside, how is the tight quarters situation resolved? Am I anticipating a problem that doesn't occur?
Thank you.
