For my Wood Duck build, I found a local source for the Meranti marine grade plywood...
Has anyone used that for kayak builds instead of the Okume?

If it's marine grade you should be fine since that's the only reason that CLC uses the Okoume they use (as far as I know) rather than some other option.

I have used Meranti. It is marketed here as Pacific Maple. It is is a bit darker than Okume and slightly heavier. IMO it is a nicer looking timber. Hard to see the difference in the pic as it was a very sunny day
