Need wood filler that can accept poly paint

I need to fill some small gaps on the inside coaming spacers before painting with Interlux polyurethane.  I woul use epoxy/woodflour, but I am out of resin!  The coaming itself will be varnished

Any suggestions about the type of filler I need would be greatly appreciated.

I may be wrong but carpenters glue and wood filler should fill your gaps but will show as filled spaces could try to used similar colored wood to make it blend more
