Quantity of paint required for NE Dory?

I am planning on building the NE Dory.

I would like to know how much paint to buy for this boat?

You painting just the outside or the inside, too?

Leaving the top strake bright I put 3 coats on the hull sides with a quart of Brightside. SEEYA Jack

1 qt. of primer, 2 qts. of paint, and 2 qts. of Schooner Varnish for tandem kayaks and larger skiffs

Follow-on: we think we'll paint the outside, varnish the top strake and gunwales and interior. How much Varnish is that? > quart?

I am completing mine this weekend, weather permitted. I finished the inside and gunwales bright. Painted the entire outside hull. Depending on how many coats you need will depend on several factors. Color, primer, and application. Yellow from what I have been told needs four coats. I used Hatteras White and needed three coats, would have preferred four. One quart of paint, however I would buy two quarts of varnish more sf in hull, bulkheads and seats. The good news, thier still making it so if needed you can buy more. FYI make sure to get paint strainers - varnish gums up after the first day in the can.
