I have read other posts on pros and cons of glassing vs taping only. I am leaning toward the glassing option because of increased strength and durability.
My question is: does the added stiffness caused by the interior fiberglass make it much more difficult to align and stitch the deck to the hull in preparation for tacking and taping?
It didn't for me.
One trick is to be ready to stitch the deck on within a day of the epoxy curing to the non-tacky stage. It takes weeks to develop its full stiffness, so if you stitch it soon it will still be relatively flexible.

I had the same question. Thanks Laszlo!
Good tip on timing. Thanks Laszlo. By the way, I am enjoying your "Building a Wood Duck 12" blog and am using many of the tips you have suggested. I find it very helpful to have photos and tips beyond the instructions provided with the kit. This is my second kayak project - the other from another kit manufacturer. In both cases I was fortunate enough to find a building guide like yours.
Thanks for the kind words and glad to be of help.
