I've cut the pieces for the aft seat in the dory and taped up the small piece that acts as a shelf upon the stern. I've noticed the seat has a slight angled pitch towards the bow. It doesn't look out of place and when I compare this install to pictures of other dorys. My seat seems to match the same lines. Is it normal to have a slow downard towards the bow on this seat or should I trim and fit so it sits flatter?
Not having NE Dory plans, I can't answer your question. But it's possible that the seat is meant to be pitched slightly away from the transom to prevent water pooling there when the boat is set up level.

Tim,
That pitch is normal. Don't trim anything!

Thanks Gentlemen. I couldn't imagine building one of these boats without the help of this forum.
