Some suggestions for placing the rails on the NE Dory. Pay close attention that the scarf joints fit well for the entire length of the joint. If not the rails will be uneven with tapering around the joint and will not be able to be glued to the hull without gaps. Also, would leave some lengths of rail at the bow to allow more flexibility in bending if there is some widening at the bow during construction and may allow placeument flush to the hull at the breasthook even with the screws. The rails seem to fit well and bend easily from the point past the bow to the stern. These are first time builders obervations.
