After 3 good seasons of paddlining I am ready to do some refinishing. What grade sand paper? How much sanding? Any other hints.

Depends on how bad it's scuffed up. Usually just a light wet sanding with 320 is fine followed by one, two at the most, coats of varnish. The bottom may be a little worse so maybe an extra coat of varnish but the way I look at it nobody really sees the bottom anyway!
