The bunji cord on my Shearwater is shot. I’m on the west coast so the shipping charge for the cord is almost twice as much as the cord. Any suggestions on another source. I’ve read about what materials are good for marine conditions, but a lot of suppliers don’t indicate what the cords are made of.
Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart and West Marine sell it as bungee cord or shock cord and they’re national chains. You might be able to just pick it up in person at the store.

Thanks. I just wondered if some from a big box store won’t help up to hours in the sun.
Depends on the store. The ones from West marine are made by New England Ropes and are high quality.

I have had really good luck with shock cord from Sgt Knots on Amazon.
i use sgt knots for their great selection of colors that you would not likely find at any regular physical store.
that said, if you are simply looking for black, your local store may have it and i would not worry about ‘quality’.
depending on use and routine exposure to sun, these are bits that will be replaced every couple years at most to many years between exchange if they are routinely stored out of the sun and or stretched.
