I am building a Passagemaker and want to make my own sails. Considering the size of the sails I was wondering if 4 oz. Dacron is a bit over kill and if a lighter spinnaker type fabric might work as well. Perhaps a 2 oz. rip stop nylon.
Has anyone gone to a lighter fabric?
