I just finished my first build, the Sassafras 16. I really enjoyed it and learned a ton. I realized I could continue working on it to perfection for the next year but, with some pressure from the kids, had to just get 'er done. After all, summer is here!
So if you're interested, take a look:

Please let me be the first to complement you on your build. Nice job! No, beautiful job. A work of art.
You will have blast with that boat. My kids and I built one a couple (or three!) years back and we are still taking it out regularly.
I have no unsolicited advice for you, but this:
- Sun hats (no shade trees on the lake)
- Drinking water, and candy;
- Life jackets (I really mean this - "life" is the word...);
- Scratches are merely proof that nature abhors perfection!!
Beautiful craft! I'm thinking about purchasing one to build this winter. How many man-hours did you put in, and specifically with sanding?
Lovely boat.
How did you bring the bow and stern together withiout strining the stitching?
thanks Ashlyn
'strining' should read 'straining'
