stitch hole spacing

I recently purchased the plans for the Shearwater 16 hybrid, got the plans home and noticed that there are no hole locations on the plans for the stitching (and no mention of it in the manual).  This is my first S&G yak (have built a stripper) and I am unsure of the hole locations.  It make sense to me that a 1/8" hole every 2-3" approx 3/16" from the edge would suffice as long as the holes on the mating parts are as close as possible.  Is my thinking correct??  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Bob

You are very close on your idea of spacing. I have built 4 MC13 and the manual has 1/16" hole's at every 4" and 3/16" in from the edge.  Hope that helps and enjoy your build.

My bad, Woodys3b is correct.  Its 3/8" from the edge not 3/16"

Our Shearwater hybrid kits have hoes 3/8 inches form an edge at 6 inches apart. We added many extra holes at the bow and stern.

Thanks for all your help!!
