I am seriously considering varnishing the interior of my almost finished SW Sport Hybrid. It seems to me that if used frequently, it will be exposed to UV, and I couldn't imagine having to repair deteriorating epoxy in the cockpit. What do others do?
I varnished the interior areas that could be exposed to light - the bottom and sides of the cockpit (as far as I could reach) and the bottom inside the hatches (again as far as I could reach). Probably not necessary, but I had some leftover varnish in the pot so I figured it couldn't hurt. I sanded very lightly before I applied the varnish, didn't want to cut through the glass weave that was still exposed (left exposed for traction).
I varnished the interior of my boats cockpit. It greatly improves the appearance!
+1 on varnishing the cockpit and the area inside the hatches. Anything that gets exposure to the sun.
