I have just finished painting a black border around the deck of my soon-to-be -completed Kaholo. I am wondering if I should tape over the paint or just varnish the whole thing. Any advice will be much apprciated.

In my experience you'll always want to tape a painted area off before varnishing. You won't get good adhesion between varnish and paint like you will between varnish and wood or varnish and cured epoxy.
Thanks for your reply, I hadn’t thought about the adnesion issue. Tape it is!
The tip for builders has some good advise on varnishing rabbit. I did the foam brush cris-crossing over a 3x3 area without re-dipping the brush dry to wet on the last strokes.
