Your can use West System (105+407) over your already cured MAS epoxy but you absolutely can not mix the two brands. They have different chemical formulations and different mixing ratios.
Oh rats! I’ll have to return it. I was hoping I could use the West 407 micro balloons with my MAS. My local West Marine does not keep MAS on the shelf.
To clarify: I’m using MAS resin and hardener. I want to know if I can use West 407 microballoon filler. It seems to me that it would be OK since that is just a filler/fairing compound, but I want to be sure.
You are good to go! You can mix the fillers all you want. You can’t mix an epoxy resin from one manufacturer with the hardener from a different manufacturer, unless you have an advanced degree in chemical engineering.
