I realize it is probably impossible to tell from a photo but this is my first attempt at checking to see if the boat is twisted or not. I still need to tighten some wires still. It does look ok from my eyes (and my wife’s). I did use a level and that helped. I guess I’m just surprised it was an easy process unless I am missing something.
Looks right to me, just make sure that the keel is no resting on the saw horse. I start by measuring/marking about four locations along the shear. That way I can make sure the level is perpendicular to the boat when checking for twist. If it is level in all four locations and the bow and stern are vertical, it is good for filets. Keep in mind that you are not building a rocket so minor variations are just fine.
Mark,
Thanks. I was dreading this part so I was surprised it looks good. But I’ll check in 4 locations when I am done tightening the wires and fitting everything.

Like a lot of things when it works its easy…and when it doesn’t, its hard.
Looks like you used care in the previous step which helps…
Twist arises from underlying assymetries in how the left and right side were assembled or inconsistent support of the hull itself which can take a true hull and bend it putting twist into it.
Not a lot of rocket science but between patience in your work and some levels…you can keep things easy ![]()
Howard,
Hah! Thanks again.
Rob
