on the kayaks ive built the fillets required fiberglass strips but thatas not mentioned in the kaholo manual
No. Just run the fillets and call it a day. The WEST manual "The Goudeon Brothers on Boat Construction" has specs on untaped fillet strength and the Kaholo instructions are well within the guidelines.
