fasteners for transom mounted rudder

I'm installing a transom mounted Fast Track rudder, through the wooden transom and into the epoxy endpour, using the "Fill, Drill, Fill" technique, of course. My question is what kind of stainless steel fasteners are best? I'm thinking two, #10 1 1/2 inch pan head or truss head screws. They aren't available locally, of course, and I really don't want to have to buy a bag of fifty online. Alternatives? I can get 1/4 SS lagscrews, but they seem like overkill and too heavy.

 I find those SS screws in most ACE Hardware stores across the US. Do you have hardware stores near you where you can buy screws, nuts, washers, etc per piece?   The old fashion way>
