Foredeck location Jimmy Skiff 11

Uncertain of accurate location and means of support where the foredeck meets the hull sides

The foredeck is supported by the hull sides. The sides slope inward toward the bottom, so at some point the space between them becomes narrower than the foredeck width - it can’t slide down any lower. A thickened epoxy fillet is used to keep the foredeck from coming back up.

Check out the “Building the CLC Jimmy Skiff II” video on CLC’s Jimmy Skiff II page, the Thursday Afternoon segment, to see how it’s done. They put weights on the foredeck to keep it pressed down tight until the fillets cure.

My sides had six holes on either side of the sides drilled into them. There is nothing in the instructions about those holes, however, I posted pictures on here and asked about them and the reply was that is supposed to be the bottom of the foredeck. Here’s a link to that thread Mystery holes on Jimmy Skiff
I plan on adding cleats on either side lined up with those holes before I glue down the foredeck.
