I'm thinking of spacing the blocks for the inner rails on my Dory so that the blocks "cover up" the bulkheads, not so the bulkheads fall between the blocks. Some of the bulkhead will need to be notched out either way...pictures below illustrate what would be cut out.
Cutting the bulkheads like this would be if the bulkheads would be between the blocks:

I found a You Tube picture of Neil Calore's NE Dory and I think I will copy the way he put an inner rail block above each bulkhead and how he blended them into the mast partner knees.
