Laszlo: About your Grab Handle on Wood Duck

 I like the looks of your grab handle.  I would like to know how big the hole is, how you determined where to place it, and any other preparations I should know before proceediong.  Was it done before you varnished?

Me too :-)

Drilled as 1/2 inch diameter, enlarged slightly by smoothing and rounding the edges.

Centered 2 diameters from each edge.

Before varnishing.

Make sure that it is completely within the stem piece or end pour.
