NE Dory Thwart Fit

Hey all,

My dory is coming along nicely and I’m trying not to let my excitement get the best of me here…

The manual is pretty vague about the profile cut on the over-long thwarts. It says “mark a centerline and align the template with the centerline.” But nothing about measurements etc.

Did you measure the thwarts before laying down the template and cutting or just plop the template down inside the delivered length and cut away?

I’m working with a full kit if that helps. Thanks!

Alright I actually just put the templates down and saw they were all different lengths. Its now abundantly clear what the instructions mean now haha

Yeah, that’s kind of the point with templates - no measuring. Plans, on the other hand have you do the layouts and measurements. But you’re squared away now, that’s what matters.
