The stem follows the shape of the bow. It's about 2" thick and 1.5" wide. Here's some pics.

Just for the record, as the boat's designer I disapprove of substituting a wooden stem for the specified epoxy fillet and glass tape. Talented boatwrights like George Krewson can pull it off, but it adds a lot of complexity without adding any strength or function.
Does it look good? Absolutely! Traditional? Sort of. But forewarned, it's not easy to get right compared to the stitch-and-glue stem.
