Over Sanding

Aplogies if this has been asked and answered previously.  I am sanding my Chester Yawl Hull in preparation for primer and paint.  First pass was with 100 grit.  How do I tell if I have gotten too deep and on the portions of the hull which are covered in resin only with no glass cloth?  It looks like bare wood in spots to me.  Obviously I don't want to compromise integrity of the hull.  Does it make sense to put another coat of resin on spots that look like wood.  

If it matters, I am going to finish with Interlux Pre-kote and Britesides.

Yeah, it's fairly easy to sand through an epoxy-only coating. If it looks like raw wood, it probably is. What you need to do is build up enough thickness for a sanding cushion. One coat will not do it and two is unlikely. Three or more is the ticket. I know it makes progress painfully slow but you need multiple coats over the bare spots in order to maintain the integrity of the epoxy encapsulation.
