I will be atttending the class at the end of March to build the Passagemaker and had a thought about a modification to it once I got it home. My main use of it will be sailing and maybe a trolling motor on it, not so much into rowing. I was thinking about lowering the aft seat, adding more support and extending it forward for more surface area. This way I could have a large surface area for sitting while sailing instead of sitting on the actual floor of the boat.
People's thoughts?

We use a trolling motor sometimes, and these seats work for that as well if one is solo. What I don't do is take the motor and the sail rig both along on the same outing. If the wind dies, I row, which is quite pleasant in this wonderfully versatile little dinghy.
