Petrel 17 Feet drawing

I just got my drawing of the Petrel. I have a question about the inner stem (bow and stern): It looks like the inner stem is mounted on the bow form, not incorporated. On some of the you- tube videos it looks like it’s incorporated in the form, as I have done before. If I do that, the kayak will be 5 inches shorter than it’s supposed to be.

you are correct - the inner stem pattern gets added (not incorporated) to the bow pattern. this way the boat ends up 17 feet. pictures from my petrel construction below:
