OK, I give up. How do you instert an image? I’ve got them in a Picasa web album. I put in the URL. It obviously didn’t work. What’s the trick?
I use picasa as well and a newish macbook. What I do is have the picasa open in one tab of the browser and the forum in another. With the pic I want to post open I 2 finger click on it (or right click) then I click on ‘copy image’. I then go to the forum and open the image dialog box from below. I paste the image in the url line and then select the size, then click post image. Took me a while to figure this out. I still can’t figure out how to post links…
Kathy,
Looks as if you put the URL for the web page instead for the image into the image box. In addition to how Dan describes doing it, you can get the image URL by right-clicking on the image and selecting "Properties" One of the listed properties will be the image's URL.
Dan,
Just highlight the text (or image) in your message that you want to use as a link, then click on the chain icon and fill out the fields. That's what I did to make the picture of Kathy's boat below a link to her Picassa page.
Enough web silliness. Kathy, that is one nice-looking boat. Nice job on the finish, and I really like your idea of the cleat by the rigging. Looks like a great place to attach an anchor, paddle leash, etc. Well done.
Laszlo
hmmm, that didn’t work. When I tried it again and opened the chain dialog box it was blank
You need to first type some text, then highlight it, then click the chain icon.
when I click the chain icon the box pops up. Is there supposed to be something in it?
At first, only the target (which you can change). You have to fill in the link URL, at a minimum. The title can be left blank.
Dan,
I love the way you've suspended your yak from the ceiling (using 2x4's in the hatches)!!! Awesome idea for paint/varnish work (now why didn't I thunk 'a that???).
Thanks for that pic/idea; will simplify life a little when I finally get there,
Larry
Well, that kind of worked, but obviously I need to play with the size.
Let's try again. This time I set the size to 400 x 300 (default was 800 x 600)
That worked a lot better!
Thanks Laszlo for the instructions. Kathy
