I am planning the shear clamps on my Chesapeake 16lt. I think I am on the right track with help from this forum. I’d be lost without your help. Is it ok to use a bevel gauge along with the CLC kit bevel gauges?
You definitely do not want to use the bevel gauge because the angle of the hull relative to vertical changes over the length of the boat. Just follow directions and use the planing guide.

Yes, of course. I was using the planning guide but I see what you are saying about a bevel guide. The planning guide image does show that I am getting close, yes? The guide should rest on the shear plan without any gaps, correct?
