When I was working on my Wood Duck 10, I was going through tools I inherited from my father. One tool jumped out at me as it looked to be made for stitch and glue. It’s the Bernard No. 102 parallel pliers. They stay aligned so you get a great grip on the copper ties to pull them tight before twisting. There is a passage through the pliers so wires can extend back past the jaws and it has a built in cutter. They are also comfortable to hold. I think they were made for electricians initially. Anyway, something to keep an eye open for at yard sales.
