Wood Duck 10 or 12?

I'm thinking of building a Wood Duck for my wife, but can't decide between the 10 and 12 model. The boat will be strictly recreational, not a lot of distance. My wife is only 100 lbs, so a small boat is what she wants.

We mostly paddle in a local estuary and river. There are tidal flows and the water can be choppy from motor boat wakes. What difference would she see between the two lengths of Wood Duck?

   The WD12 will be a little faster; the WD10 will be a little lighter. It's possible that the WD12 could be a bit easier to build since you bend the wood over 12 feet instead of 10 feet. I'd expect far more similarities than differences.
