My grandson outgrew the Duckling I made for his ninth birthday so he got this one for his 15th birthday. Built from plans. Okoume hull, western red and northern white cedar deck. Also made the Greenland style paddle with carbon graphite ferrule , same woods. Launched Saturday. After he paddled about five minutes I got the thumbs up. Made the hours of work well worth it!

Sweat equity? Yes, he spent a week with me making the hull. Couldn't come up my way for much of the decking but I sent photos daily to keep him apprised of the progress and make sure the boat was meeting his expectations! I believe it exceeded them.
