Cleaning Varnished Wood

Hi Everyone,

I searched the forum for any previous question like the one I will put forward below but couldn't find any.

I recently had my finished CLC boat out for the first time on a waterway inlet with brackish water. Not a big deal but I noticed "water spots" (?) on parts of the inside varnished hull and wondered about cleaning it.

What is the best and safest way to clean the varnished wood? Some Internet searches resulted in recommendations (mild soapy water spray, 50/50 vinegar and water spray), but I wanted to see what some of you have done and prefer.

Thanks!

Personally, I use fresh water from my garden hose. If that doesn't do it then a solution of laundry detergent followed by hose water. Not saying it's the best and safest, but it's worked for decades.
